Effect of contact pressure of vacuum circuit breaker

(1) Ensure good contact between moving and static contacts and make the contact resistance less than the specified value.
(2) Meet the dynamic stability requirements in rated short circuit state. The contact pressure should be greater than the repulsive force between the contacts in the rated short-circuit state to ensure complete closure and no damage in this state.
(3) Repress closing bounce. The contact can be buffered during the collision, the kinetic energy of the collision is converted into the potential energy of the bounce, and the bounce of the contact is suppressed. (4) Provide an acceleration force for the opening. When the contact pressure is large, the moving contact gets a large opening force, which is easy to break and will cause welding points, improve the initial acceleration of the opening, reduce the arc time and improve the breaking capacity. Contact pressure is a very important parameter, in the initial design of the product to go through many times of verification, testing before the selection is more appropriate. If the contact pressure is selected too small, it cannot meet the requirements of the above aspects. However, if the contact pressure is too large, on the one hand, the closing operation work needs to be increased, and the mechanical strength requirements of the arc extinguishing chamber and the whole machine also need to be improved, which is technically uneconomical.
